Thanks for the rain!
We're excited to see the rain come to Harmon County! That's because, over the last two months, Westview Boys' Home's Ranch Manager, Doug Gonzalez, has worked with excavation crews to create a new pond on our north campus. Now that the earthwork is finished, we're all happy to see the rains begin to fill this six acre pond. The pond will serve as a part of our overall conservation plan as established with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and will provide watering for wildlife and our herd of cattle.
But there are more good things that will come with the pond. We are also eager, as the pond fills, to see a beautiful place on our campus where our boys can fish. We are already making plans to stock the pond with game fish when it has filled. This should result in countless hours of fun, and provide important opportunities for bonding time with our caring houseparents.
This project has been accomplished by pooling the gifts of individual donors with matching funds from the Natural Resources Conservation Service. We are thankful for all of you who make good things possible for the needy boys in our care.
